Twenty Seven?! #$%*

In 53 short days I will be turning 27. HOW did this happen?

27 was the age that I couldn't even comprehend a couple of years ago, now it is knocking on my backdoor! Really it is still like 7 weeks away...but I can't help thinking about it, and I can't help think about what I have done during year 26! Everything kind of becomes a blur, but a lot has happened! Here are my highlights...(in no particular order! And I know I am missing tons!)

1. Took a road trip with my dad and watched my Patriots play against his Broncos! First NFL game, and hopefully NOT my last!

2. Survived the NBA lockout, followed by 4 months of endless basketball games!

3. Paul Millsap said hi to me in the tunnels of the ESA! ♥

4. I had a Valentine! (first one since like 9th grade!)

5. I learned how to golf & bought my own set of golf clubs!

6. My family bought a boat and we have been learning all the ropes!

7. I got up wake boarding on my very first try!

8. Took a road trip to Vegas

9. In September I will go to Lake Powell for my very first time ever!

10. I bought a new car!

There are soo many things that I still want to go do, see and learn! But the good thing about birthdays...there isn't a timeline to get things done! I can still travel, save money, exercise more WHATEVER even after I turn 27! But in the mean time I am going to relish in the last 53 days of being 26!

Ohhh...And did I tell you that my bishop wants to have a "meeting" with all of the girls in our ward who are 25 and older?! Yeah, so glad to be clumped into that group...I can only imagine what this so called meeting will be about! Help us all!!

finally friday ♥

It is finally Friday! Hooray!

Today is a good day! I have fun plans tonight, no one is at work, and I am wearing ORANGE pants! Yes Orange! My favorite color! How could you not have a good day with these babies on?!

Let's just hope that whatever pants I decide to wear tomorrow can live up to the expectations I have for Saturday!

back to reality...



Back from Vegas and back to reality! It was so nice to get away for the weekend and just relax by the pool! As you can see, we kept ourselves hydrated with our favorite water & of course Diet Coke, we ate some amazing food and...

Pretty sure Jared thought he was the luckiest man alive...but little did he know the kind of car games that girls play while on a road trip! We definitely brought out the nervous cough in him! Oh and he now knows to NEVER say the word "Payless" in the Christian Louboutin store! That is like swearing in church, you just don't do it!

I have 2 words for ya...

Laying out, Winner Winner, Dressing Up, Going Shopping, Party Time, Road Trip, Pool Side, Diet Coke, Sun Burn...(you get the idea)

Being single is great! You can basically do anything you want to do, whenever you want to do it! 

One bad thing about being single...LARGE monster spiders that like to dwell in your garage ready to pounce & kill you at any second!

Exhibit A:

Seriously, if you are single you should not have to deal with this...just saying! (we obviously handled it really well!) And for your information, that spider was HUGE! However, I was not about to get close enough to show you!

So to all of you Husbands, Boyfriends, Brothers and/or Dads...when a girl asks you to kill a spider, don't question it! Just kill that sucker! OK thanks! ♥

oh the stories I could tell...

So lately I can't get over the feeling that I need to write a book or something about the joys of being 26 (almost 27) and single. It seriously would be a FUH-NY book! Oh the stories I could tell...
   

Growing up in Utah you automatically assume that after high school you are going to go off to college and meet the man of your dreams! You will have your fairytale wedding by age 20 and will definitely have like 3 kids by 26! For some that is what happens...for others it is not quite the fairytale you had in your head! But honestly I can say that I really would not have it any other way! I look at all of the things I have been able to accomplish and all of the things I have done that I would never have been able to do if I would have been married so young! BUT...I sit in my singles ward on Sundays and I seriously question how my life has come to this? For those of you who do not have the joys being in a singles ward, start counting your blessings...like RIGHT now!
  
So back to this book business...
Just last night my roommate Michelle and I started sharing stories out of our Journals from the past couple of years. Basically that is all we would have to do to create a Top Selling book! Publish your embarrassing journal entries = become famous Author! (seriously Michelle...that along with our "Glamping" line and we are set for life!) But as much as I am sure all of you would love to read straight out of my journal, I am not quite sure I am ready for that kind of embarrassment...and neither are the guys who have had the privilege of being in my journal! Ha oh just thinking about it makes me laugh! So instead I have decided that I am going to start documenting the good, bad, and everything in between about my journeyings in the singles world! You better enjoy, laugh, cry, breath a sigh of relief...because trust me I have been there, done that!

an ode to my childhood

I am old. There I said it.

You know you are old when the things that were in style when you were a kid are now back in style. Acid wash jeans, Denim Shirts, Neon everything...seriously how did these already make that full circle to be hip again? When Overalls come back in style I am officially giving up!

Gone are the days of Mr. Rogers, Reading Rainbow and Today's Special. I was talking to my mom about them last night and my little sister looked at me like I was CRazY! I think she is the crazy one...how can you NOT know who Mr. Rogers is? Seriously!

So as an ode to my favorite old man in a cardigan, here is the YouTube video that has been flying around the internet all week. I may or may not have gotten misty eyed watching it...but I am old, so give me a break!
